Infection Prevention 2-Day Course
This course was designed to prepare novice hospital-based infection preventionists (IP) for the initial phase of their work and educate other healthcare staff on the healthcare-associated infection (HAI) prevention. The course is not intended to be a substitute for a full three- or four-day fundamentals course recommended for all hospital IPs , but rather to serve as a bridge until such a course can be attended.
The objectives of the Infection Preventionist 2-Day Course are to review the most important care practices for preventing the most common HAI and learn the principles of HAI surveillance and other disciplines necessary to perform the job of (or oversee) an IP. The course provides thirteen (13) continuing education (CE) contact hours.
Note: The course has been updated to include an acute care track and a new separate long term care track to meet the needs of healthcare workers in both areas.
All course materials, including references and resource tools, are easily accessible via this webpage. Click on each topic to view or print.
