Radiation (X-ray) Machine Registration
Effective June 26, 2024, RHB will no longer issue Certificates of Registration upon initial registration or renewal.
Registration verification is now available through our
online registration verification page.
What is X-ray Machine Registration?
Title 17, California Code of Regulations § 30108 requires that when an entity acquires a radiation machine, they must register with the Radiologic Health Branch (RHB) within 30 days.
The registration process is completed through the
Radiation Machine Registration Portal.
Facilities will be given a
facility registration number (FAC 000XXXXX). Radiation machines can then be added or removed from the facility inventory.
Key Information for Registering
Before visiting the online registration portal for submission, it will be helpful to have the following information prepared:
- Registering Entity Name
- Physical/Mailing Address
- Business Phone Number
- Machine Manufacturer
- Machine Model
- Number of X-ray Tubes
- Date of Installation/Removal
- Location of Machine
Registration Cycles and Expiration
After initial registration fees are paid, a registration is valid for two years from the end of the month when issued. Renewal notices will be mailed 120 days prior to expiration. For more information about renewal payments, as well as initial registration fees, please visit the
