Project Firstline is CDC’s national training collaborative for healthcare infection control. Learn more about the national initiatives​.

In California, Project Firstline focuses specifically on Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) and Environmental Services (EVS) staff in skilled nursing facilities (SNF). In coordination with public health​ infection prevention partners, Project Firstline offers competency-based health education and training, and support for facility educators.

The HAI Program in the California Department of Public Health Center for Health Care Quality​ oversees the prevention, surveillance, and reporting of HAI and antimicrobial resistance in California’s hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
