Facts Fight Fentanyl Campaign
Background
The California Department of Public Health has launched a statewide public education campaign called Facts Fight Fentanyl (Campaign). The Campaign is tailored to 16–39-year-olds and aims to raise awareness of the prevalence and dangers of fentanyl and inform of naloxone, a life-saving overdose reversal medication. To reach California's diverse population, the Campaign includes ads in English, Spanish, Chinese, and Korean. Media placement includes, but is not limited to:
- Digital video, audio, and displays
- Out-of-home
- Paid search
- Social media
- Streaming TV and cinemas
The Campaign includes an accompanying website:
FactsFightFentanyl.org. The website provides more information on fentanyl, where to get naloxone and how to use it, and how to recognize and stop an overdose.
The campaign launched on August 29, 2024 (in tandem with National Overdose Awareness Day on August 31) and will run through June 2025.
